CBG Vs. CBD Home Therapy

White CBG Cannabigerol Flower

In the previous articles on Game Up Nutrition CBD Review and Cannabidiol selection process, research into the various other Phyto-Cannabinoid therapeutic uses and their entourage effects or combining effects were slow but ongoing. After being notified of Game Up Nutrition’s White CBG launch, greater interest of combining CBG and CBD compelled further research and experimentation furthering the available Phyto-Cannabinoids for Therapeutic Use.

*Phyto-cannabinoids refer to non psychotropic cannabinoids derived from Hemp whereas Cannabinoids refer to non psychotropic and psychotropic cannabinoids derived from Cannabis and Hemp.

The White CBG is a slight premium in price at $49.99 for 3.5 grams. The flowers are derived from organic hemp harvested in Oregon. The flowers are a lime to light green gradient in the flower’s color. The flowers are well cured as stated with very little aroma. The White CBG strain contains 13.69% CBG and 0.11% THC. There was hardly any flavor or after taste.

Each 3.5 gram batch depending on the frequency of usage and dose will last from 1 week to 3 weeks. At 2 to 3 doses per day, 3.5 grams will last only about 1 week. If utilizing only once per day such as in the evening before bed time, one batch could be stretched out for up to 3 weeks.

In the previous 9 months since rolling out CBD enhancements and the CBD Total Body Treatment, what was noticed in our guest servicing was the clear distinction of guests who are very knowledgeable, experienced with phyto-cannabinoids, favoring their use in massage therapy treatments. Guests of their own volition request for phyto-cannabinoid enhancements such as our ala carte therapeutic grade topical CBD oil from Lab Blends or guests order the CBD Total Body Treatment.

There are guests just not interested and want just the massage and facial treatments with no enhancements. There are guests preferring some of the Young Living Therapy Grade Oils for pain, stress, management, and the Organic Samoan Coconut Oil for dry skin, beautifying, vitamin, mineral replenishment. Some guests have given the appearance of aversion to CBD. Perhaps this is because of;

  • Adverse allergic reactions
  • Potential interactions with other medications
  • Sparse and limited clinical research supporting the emerging scientific phyto-cannabinoid research
  • Stigma, lack of experience with the various phyto-cannabinoids
  • Knowledge of the distinctions with cannabis derived psychotropic and hemp derived non psychotropic phyto-cannabinoids.

The diversity in how each state regulates hemp derived phyto-cannabinoid food products, flowers, oils etc., is vast, bewildering and too confusing. Moreover the Stigma attached with smoke and smoking phyto-cannabinoids as one of the mediums of dosing CBD and CBG, are likely to be adversely impacting the idea of exploring their potential therapeutic and clinical use cases. Whether the current state of affairs with how people feel about phyto-cannabinoids for health and wellbeing to alleviate pain, inflammation, stress, recovery are the effects of the decades long anti tobacco / cigarette smoking initiatives and advertisements, lack of regulation, mitigation of tainted, dangerous ingredients, additives, manufacturing processes, quality control of hemp derived products, vape smoke products, cannabis smoking stigma or a combination of all of these factors is unclear.

In the 5 years of utilizing CBD Cannabidiol, a clear treatment path and added arsenal for inflammation reduction, sleep quality improvement and calming of the racing and stressed mind has never been more applicable than now. Treating and recovering from Bursitis, Tendonitis, Inflammation from over use of wrists, joints in the fingers from massage therapy and inflammation and pain from sports and exercise are problems that have personally plagued me for years. CBD and Turmeric are two items along with consciously seeking low inflammation foods, such as raw sashimi (fish), shell fish, crustacean foods, managing high acidity foods such as taking in simple sugars from fruits rather than complex sugar foods from deserts, soft drinks and sugary beverages etc., have helped to alleviate and recover from these persistent recurring problems.

The question now was whether the other 96 or 119+ cannabinoids could either enhance the effects of CBD or have other therapeutic effects individually or utilized together.

With high quality and potency Cannibigerol CBG widely available now, the chance to incorporate CBG into our lives was seized.

there were a few common themes referencing potential therapeutic effects of combining the use of Cannabigerol and Cannabidiol together to encourage the entourage effect (how phyto-cannabinoids interact and enhance and/or negate their isolated effects), to reduce neuro inflammation, oxidative stress and assisting in increasing appetite. However the same question is proposed of dosing, ratio of CBG and CBD, timing of dosing are areas required for further study.

For this instance, White CBG from Game Up Nutrition was utilized stand alone through out various parts of the day, evening and night times for 7 consecutive days. The White CBG was similar to a muscle and mood relaxant. After the 7 day consecutive regiment, the regiment was modified utilizing CBG only once per day in combination with 30mg dose of Game Up Nutrition CBD tincture taken 30min. before bed time daily. So far after consistent use for 2 weeks further regiments of CBG and CBD entourage effects to improve restful sleep, pain reduction and inflammation response after delayed onset muscle soreness from exercise is warranted. In Chapter 72 of the cited item above, it indicated CBD and CBG compete and bind to the same 5HT14 receptor. Furthermore Higher doses of CBG may block or interfere with CBD uptake when both are present. At lower doses the interference of CBD uptake are marginal. The specific dose and ratios are not provided. Additional research and continuous sustained combined, separated use will be necessary over the long term to gauge their combined effects.

Although the reporting is only anecdotal testimony, updates of progress will be noted here. In the mean time we would love to learn of your first hand experiences with combined regiments of CBG and CBD with a comment below.
